Abstract:

A 20-fold decrease in the efficiency of prism coupling into low-loss ZnO waveguides was found with increasing incident power at 0.532 µm. All-optical switching in the temporal envelope of 10 ns laser pulses was interpreted theoretically in terms of an absorptive nonlinearity with a relaxation time much slower than the pulse width.
