All Optical Switching Devices Based on Large Nonlinear Phase Shifts from Second Harmonic Generation

Abstract:

We show that the large non-linear phase shift obtained from phase-mismatched second harmonic generation can be used to implement all-optical switching devices such as non-linear Mach-Zender interferometer and a non-linear directional coupler.
