Solid State wavemeter with InGaAsP/InGaAs two-diode heterostructure

Abstract:

A novel photodetector with wavemeter capability in the near infrared is demonstrated. The device is an InGaAsP/InGaAs double heterostructure operating as two back-to-back photodiodes with different spectral responses. This prototype is able to determine monochromatic-light wavelengths with an accuracy of ± 40 pm around 1.55 µm and a sensitivity of about 0.14 µA/nm.
