Fine Tuning of Wavevector Conservation in Guided Wave Devices by Photobleaching

A new principle for optimizing wavevector conservation and phase matching in organic based guided wave devices is proposed and demonstrated. Fine tuning of grating coupling into a poly-4BCMU waveguide is demonstrated using controlled changes in the refractive index by photobleaching.
