Cascading phase-shift and multivalued response in counterpropagating frequency nondegenerate parametric amplifiers

Abstract:
The response of a counterpropagating parametric amplifier is analyzed in the ?cascading? regime. The richness of the predicted behavior (amplification, bistability, phase-shifting) is appealing for all-optical processing of low power signals. Moreover we discuss the implementation in a Quasi-Phase-Matched proton-exchanged LiNbO3 waveguide.
