An analytical approach to all-optical modulation by cascading

Abstract:

We study analytically all-optical modulation by cascading in type II second-harmonic generation and show that this configuration is promising for all-optical signal processing, provided that it is operated near phase matching. Conditions for an effective transistor like action are derived.
