NooEL - Nonlinear optics and optoelectronics Laboratory - University of Rome "Roma Tre",Department of Engineering, INFN, CNISM
The University "Roma Tre", established in 1992, has developed with NooEL a strong commitment in Optoelectronics and Photonics, carrying out advanced research in several areas of nonlinear optics, nanophotonics and near infrared detection. NooEL has taken part in several national, European and NATO Projects, climbing to excellence in the fields of cascading effects and devices, germanium-on silicon photodetectors, photonic crystals, spatial solitons in dielectric and liquid crystals.
The group, led by Prof. Gaetano Assanto, has gained several awards and holds a few patents, effectively collaborating with research teams throughout the world as well as with industrial laboratories such as Agilent TTC, Pirelli Labs, Alenia-Marconi Systems, Thales.
The Laboratory and the group support teaching activities in Integrated Optics, Optoelectronics, Optical Sensors and Nonlinear Optics, and its senior researchers are involved in board activities with OSA, IEEE-LEOS, SPIE, MRS, AEI.
NooEL is in Via della Vasca Navale, 84 - 00146 - Roma
